Our journey to transform mental health has really taken shape!
Earlier this week, we hit a significant milestone: The concrete pouring of the final slabs for the Crisis and Critical Care Building and the McCain Complex Care and Recovery Centre. With this event, we are nearing what is referred to as “topping off” in the construction world, which signifies the near completion of the outer structure of the building.
It also means that as the new year approaches, we will shift our focus to the building envelope, which includes brick work, water proofing and insulation. In 2019, we will also start work on the insides of the both buildings, bringing us closer to our goal of providing patient care in our new buildings by mid-2020. This is a very exciting time for CAMH and we wish to thank our project partners Plenary Health, PCL and Infrastucture Ontario, Stantec, KPMB and Monstgomery Sisam.
Also this month, there will be a number of road and/or lane closures required . We will provide updates on our Twitter page as they become available.
