The Discovery Fund is calling for the next round of innovative projects through its Seed Funding competition, which supports investigators during the critical initial research start-up period until external peer-reviewed funding is secured.
With applications due Feb. 18, 2019, the competition will fund projects that fall under the CAMH’s research strategic directions of reducing the suicide rate; reducing disability associated with mental disorders and addictions; and improving psychosis prevention and outcomes.
In July 2018, the first Seed Funding competition launched seven exciting projects, including a study into how transgender people access mental health care services; a project aimed at developing an “antidote” to PTSD; and an evaluation of online CBT delivery.
Deadline for letters of intent is Feb. 18 and full application deadline is April 1. The full guidelines can be viewed here, and the application form is available here.
