In January, the federal government introduced legislation to delay the implementation of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) for people whose only underlying medical condition is a mental illness until March 2027. This announcement came following the release of the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying. CAMH's submission to this Committee recommended a delay.
You may have questions about what this delay might mean for you or your loved one.
