Dr. Dafna Kahana (she/her) is an associate scientist and staff psychiatrist with the McCain Centre for Child, Youth and Family Mental Health at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and an O'Brien Scholar in the Child and Youth Mental Health Collaborative with CAMH, the Hospital for Sick Children and University of Toronto (UofT). She is an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry.
Before her current position, she completed a child and adolescent psychiatry residency, and a clinical research fellowship in addiction at CAMH and UofT.
Areas of Research
Dr. Kahana's research interests lie in the intersection of addictions and mental health, with a particular interest in qualitative and epidemiological research and novel therapeutic targets, mainly among youth. She is also passionate about the effect of gender on substance use behavior. The majority of her clinical work is in youth addiction, which is synergistic to her research interests.
