Dr. Meghan Chenoweth is a project scientist in Molecular Science at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
She completed a BSc in biomedical science at the University of Guelph, an MSc in medical sciences at McMaster University, followed by a PhD and postdoctoral studies in pharmacology at the University of Toronto.
Areas of Research
At CAMH, Dr. Chenoweth’s research is in the area of pharmacogenomics and statistical genetics.
Dr. Chenoweth is an early career researcher studying intersections between genetics, sex and gender, substance use, and concurrent psychiatric disorders. She is especially passionate about conducting genomics research in diverse and vulnerable populations including African Americans, youth, and individuals living with psychiatric disorders. Dr. Chenoweth leverages genome-wide approaches, sex-based analysis, and biomarkers to answer her research questions.
Dr. Chenoweth’s work is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the National Institutes of Health.
